More than 100 Companies to be Represented and 125 Organizations Honored for their Roles in American Business at Gala with 250 Attendees

WHO:  The Stevie® Awards programs honor organizations of all types and sizes and the people behind them.  The Stevies recognize outstanding performances in the workplace worldwide, and are conferred across four awards programs, including The American Business Awards, The International Business Awards, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business and the Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service.  A fifth program, the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, will be unveiled in September 2013.

The Stevies were nicknamed from the name Stephen, which is derived from the Greek word for crowned.  The crystal pyramid held aloft by Stevie represents the hierarchy of human needs, a system often represented as a pyramid that was developed in the 1960s by psychologist Abraham Maslow, who observed that after their basic needs are met, human beings seek the esteem of their peers.
